June is the beginning of dry and cold season, chilling especial at night and morning. This time of year Tarangire offers less wildlife numbers than previous months. The Serengeti migration herds will be meandering between center and western and wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater is a must see. The number of safari vehicles is medium in June.

The region is usually dry, and the grass turns yellow. At Tarangire and Serengeti masses of wild game gather along the rivers and water ponds. Much wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater. The number of people in the parks is high in this season.

In October the region is completely dried out. Serengeti and Tarangire wildlife only gather at water sources to quench their thirst. A medium number of visitors are in the parks at this time.

Temperatures are warm during the day and can drop considerably at night. The first thunder showers start to build over the Serengeti rolling plains and relieve the wild residents from the dry habitat. In Tarangire there are a number of resident game year around. The Ngorongoro crater is abundant with wildlife. The number of visitors in the parks are low in November.

Detailed Itinerary

Accommodation Level: Mid range-Budget Camping.

Upon your arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to your city hotel for your itinerary briefing. A refreshing overnight stay, before embarking on your adventure. 

Arusha / Lake Manyara National Park

Driving distance 120km – 2hrs

Safari starts at 7am. After breakfast we will head to Manyara. It is an awesome game park and compact wildlife-viewing circuit. From the entrance gate, the road winds through lush forest, where baboon troops lounge nonchalantly. Along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees. Dainty bush-buck tread warily through the shadows and forest Hornbills honk cacophonous in the high canopy.

A narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored by Manyara’s tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. Squadrons of banded mongoose dart between the acacias, while the dik-dik forage in their shade.

As afternoon sets in, a picnic lunch will be served. Game viewing continues before heading to the camp for dinner as the sun sets.

Lake Manyara National Park / Serengeti National park

Driving distance 176km – 3hrs 30mins

Our day starts breakfast, you will head to Serengeti, via a glorious evergreen forested rim of the Ngorongoro valley. As the safari leads towards the end of the acacia woodland, your eyes will be amazed by the vast grassland at its end.

Lunch will be served. Then you’ll continue on a photographic safari through plains. Scenic settings and wildlife species like buffalo, giraffe, eland, hartebeest, topi, warthog and gazelle are year around residents. The sun sets while the lion and cheetah stalk their prey. You will enter camp for dinner.

Serengeti National Park /Ngorongoro

Driving distance 110km – 2hrs

The day starts with a cup of coffee. Then we set out for a morning drive at 6am. The Serengeti open plains has exceptional views at sunrise.  Providing an amazing glimpse at the prowling cats. The Seronera Valley teems with fascinating wildlife events.

After enjoying wildlife viewing, you will return to the camp for brunch. Thereafter you will depart for game viewing en route, past eastern savanna to the Nabii entrance gate. After exiting formalities, you will continue past the rim of the Ngorongoro crater and arrive at the camp for dinner.

Ngorongoro Crater/Arusha

Driving distance 179km – 3hrs

After an early breakfast, you will descent 610 meters towards the crater floor. We will witness the gorgeous design of the intact caldera. With productive grass and water, herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and gazelle roam freely, enjoying the pasture. Lerai forests and swamps are home to black rhinos, with hippopotamus wading in the water cooling their skin from the heat. Lions and hyenas abound, waiting to be seen.

Picnic lunch will be served. Then we ascent the crater wall heading back to Arusha.

-You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to fly out of the country or Arusha Domestic Airport and fly to Zanzibar or join another wildlife safari if extended excursions are selected.
