June is the beginning of dry and cold season, chilling especially at night and morning. This time of the year Tarangire offers less wildlife numbers than previous months. The Serengeti migration herds will be meandering between center and western and wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater is a must see. The number of safari vehicles is medium in June.

The Wildebeest congregate in masses in northern Serengeti. They race across the flowing Mara River. The river crossing is picturesque. Wildlife in the Ngorongoro crater live in abundance. The number of visitors in the parks is high. We carefully curate our itineraries for the best experience.

In October the region is completely dried out. Serengeti and Tarangire wildlife only gather at water sources to quench their thirst. A medium number of visitors are in the parks at this time.

A season of short rains usually occurs at any time during November and December. Showers generally happen in the night and are short lived. Temperatures are warm during the day and can drop considerably at night. The first thunder showers start to build over the Serengeti rolling plains and relieve the wild residents from the dry habitat. In Tarangire there are a number of resident game year around. The Ngorongoro crater is abundant with wildlife. The number of visitors in the parks are low in November.

Detailed Itinerary

Mid Range Tented Camp and Lodge,

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Kahawa Lodge for itinerary briefing and an overnight stay. Get ready for the safari of your dreams.

Arusha / Serengeti National Park

Driving distance 347.6km – 5hrs 20mins

The safari starts early in the morning after breakfast. Then we head to the famous Serengeti, via southwest rim of the Ngorongoro crater. We will pass the Malanja depression with its stunning views. The Olduvai woodland is a treat while on the way to the vast open plains.

In wet season, the Great Annual Migration is the highlight. Great herds also occur more north, still the southern plains offer awesome game drives. There is a great chance of seeing wildlife all year around. Also, a great habitation of bird life.

As the afternoon kicks in, a delicious picnic lunch will be served in the wilderness. Afterwards game viewing will continue. This is an awesome chance for you to witness lions hunt some unsuspecting prey. What an experience! Tanzania is famed for its numerous wildlife reservations. Let’s discover and adventure, while nature keeps prefect balance. As the sun sets, we will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

-Overnight stay at Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Central Serengeti Seronera / Northern Serengeti Kogatende

Driving distance 118km – 3hrs

After a nutritious breakfast, we will depart for more game viewing en route towards the northern Serengeti ‘Bologonya’.  Our drive will take us past Lobo/Klain’s Valley providing gorgeous scenery and great chances of viewing wildlife species. The rambunctious hippopotamus and the intelligent elephant are sights to behold.  Giraffe, buffalo, hartebeest, topi and many more animals are supported in these wildernesses.

The unique Bologonya valley shares an un-fenced border with the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Animals move freely between these wilderness areas. Makes for a lot of wildlife action. After a remarkable game drive, we will return to your lodging for dinner and rest.

-Overnight at Serengeti Savannah Camp

Full Day Drive: Observing herds of Wildebeest at the crossing.

A full day of game viewing starts after breakfast, heading to Mara River valley. A welcome respite for hungry crocodiles roaming the river with eager anticipation. Wildebeest and Zebra carefully cross the flowing river.

Every year between August and December the riverbanks allow for excellent gnus sightings. Innumerous Wildebeest herds cross the river, risking the jaws of some of Africa’s largest crocodiles. Only the strong, quick and well positioned will survive the crossing.

As the afternoon sets in, a picnic lunch will be served in the bush. Then we will spend the rest of the day enjoying the one of Africa’s annual Great Migrations. Afterwards we will return to camp for a flavorful dinner and overnight stay.
