In April you may experience more rain than other times of year, but generally there are fewer safari vehicles and still abundant wildlife. The wilderness are shades of vibrant greens. This is one of the best times to explore the eastern Serengeti plains and the abundant wildlife in the Ngorongoro crater.

June is the beginning of dry and cold season, chilling especially at night and morning. This time of the year Tarangire offers less wildlife numbers than previous months. The Serengeti migration herds will be meandering between center and western and wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater is a must see. The number of safari vehicles is medium in June.

Detailed Itinerary

Accommodation Level: Mid range-Tented Camp and Lodges.

Upon your arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to your city hotel for your itinerary briefing. A refreshing overnight stay, before embarking on your adventure. 
  

Arusha / Tarangire National Park

Driving distance 118km – 2hrs

The first day of your dream safari begins after breakfast. We will head to the marvelous wilderness studded with acacia and baobab trees. Great sightings of elephant troops never seen else-where in the northern Tanzanian wild. Dry season starts in early June. The shallow river sits in the middle of the park and serves as a sanctuary for many.   Elephant, buffalo, impala, zebra, wildebeests and many varieties of birds, congregate and quench their thirst.

On a good day the ferocious lion and the elusive leopard can also be seen. Picnic lunch will be served thereafter game driving will continue until sunset. Then we will retire to the lodge for a dinner.

Karatu / Serengeti National Park.

Driving distance: 226km

We will start the day with a hardy breakfast. The Serengeti awaits us. Let’s drive southwest to the rim of the Ngorongoro crater for great photo ops and wildlife sightings.  There are various types of vegetation throughout the Olduvai acacia woodland. Extensive plant life makes this wilderness very edifying for wildlife.  The grasslands stretch far north. In the wet season, the Great annual Migration is the highlight. Even in the dry season you will experience tons of game species and diverse bird life.

Picnic lunch will be served, thereafter game viewing will continue. Sprinkled with granite rocks, the lion, leopard and cheetahs use them as hideouts on hot days. As the sun sets, we will retire to the lodge for dinner and siesta.

The day starts with breakfast, then we depart for a game drive. The mystery of the Serengeti comes alive in our full day package.  Breathtaking vast grasslands that teem with wildlife. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, eland, topi, warthog, gazelles and numerous predators.

The rivers host Nile crocodile, hippopotamus and many aquatic birds. As afternoon sets in, lunch will be served. After lunch we have a chance to view more wildlife. At sundown we return to camp for dinner.

Serengeti / Ngorongoro

Discover nocturnal life in the open grasslands of the Serengeti, let’s set out at 6am, the magical sounds  of the wilderness before sunrise are amazing, Get a glimpse of powerful creatures lurking in the wee hours of the morning, after a rewarding drive we will return to the camp for breakfast.  After breakfast we’ll drive off for more game driving, before exiting the Serengeti towards the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, let’s visit the Maasai, rich in traditional culture, Maasai will allow us to participate in their way of life, afterwards we will have a scenic drive back to lodge for a vibrant delicious dinner.

Driving distance: 179km – 3hrs

Explore the Crater floor after an early breakfast. We are excited to explore one of the most prestigious wildlife conservation on earth. Let’s visit the famed Black Rhino sanctuary. Tanzania is home to both the black and white rhino. This wilderness is truly a haven for predator and prey alike. 

Picnic lunch will be served at the crater floor subsequently you will ascent its wall and return back to Arusha.

-Overnight stay at Olerai lodge or you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to fly out of the country or Arusha Domestic Airport and fly to Zanzibar or join another wildlife safari if extended excursions are selected.
