In April you may experience more rain than other times of year, but generally there are fewer safari vehicles and still abundant wildlife. The wilderness are shades of vibrant greens. This is one of the best times to explore the eastern Serengeti plains and the abundant wildlife in the Ngorongoro crater.

June is the beginning of dry and cold season, chilling especially at night and morning. This time of the year Tarangire offers less wildlife numbers than previous months. The Serengeti migration herds will be meandering between center and western and wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater is a must see. The number of safari vehicles is medium in June.

Detailed Itinerary

Accommodation Level: Mid range-Tented Camp and Lodges.

Upon your arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to your city hotel for your itinerary briefing. A refreshing overnight stay, before embarking on your adventure. 

Arusha / Tarangire Nationa Park

Driving distance 118km – 2hrs
Safari starts after an early breakfast. The pristine rolling countryside dotted with baobab trees, seems to dwarf the grazing animals beneath them. A river flowing in the middle of the park invites animal herds near and far. The setting is picturesque with elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and impalas living abundantly at the river. 
Tarangire also inhabits a number of bird species, of which most are endemic.
A refreshing picnic lunch will be served. Thereafter we will continue game viewing until sunset. We will retire to the lodge for dinner and enjoy the magnificent surrounding nature.

Tarangire National Park / Serengeti National Park

Driving distance 226km – 5hrs
Safari commences after breakfast. Let’s head towards the Serengeti, via the spectacular endless Maasai steppe. The volcanic soda lake based along the Great Rift Valley is an amazing sight to see. It is vitalizing to witness the wonderous rim of the Ngorongoro crater. Vast open grasslands make a sanctuary for many wildlife species.

In the afternoon we will break for a nutritious picnic lunch. Then we will continue game driving through some magnificent habitats. By sundown we will head to camp for dinner and siesta.

Full Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

First, we will energize with a nutritious breakfast. Then we will experience the interior rolling plain. High quality game viewing in an intimate atmosphere where elephant, giraffe, buffalo, topi, hartebeest, warthog and gazelle roam freely. This wilderness feeds many bird, mammal and reptile species.

In the afternoon lunch will be served in the bush, before continuing a miraculous drive through the Serengeti.

Serengeti National Park / Ngorogoro

Driving distance 110km – 2hrs

Discover what creeps and prowls through the night. We plan to venture the Serengeti before sunrise. Very often early morning drives are adorned with the rhythms of the nocturnal animal life. The open plains are not the only scenario for wildlife sighting. After a lovely morning drive, we will return to the camp for breakfast. Thereafter you will depart for some more game viewing.

Picnic lunch will be served at the open plains, before exiting the Serengeti. Next, we will visit a Maasai village. You will learn the awe-inspiring traditions of this fascinating tribe.  After a local dance and other Maasai activities, we will continue towards the rim of the Ngorongoro crater and arrive at the lodge for dinner.

Ngorongoro Crater / Marera Valley Lodge

Driving distance 20km

Let’s drift down to the crater floor, optional, perhaps after an early breakfast or carry a picnic breakfast and serve it at the crater floor.
Let’s view the world’s largest unflooded & unbroken caldera still intact. Abundant pastures and great sources of water provide life to a diverse range of wildlife. Including wildebeests, zebras, gazelle, buffalos, eland, hartebeest, elephant and waterbuck. The Black Rhino is also present. Lions and hyenas live abundantly.

As the afternoon kicks in, a picnic lunch will be served, then more game viewing before ascending the crater wall and heading back to the lodge for overnight stay.

Manyara National Park /Arusha

Driving distance 120km-2hrs

After breakfast we will move on to Manyara National Park.  It is a welcome respite for magnitudes of landscape. On the Rift Valley floor, this park offers a magnificent alkaline lake encrusted with hundreds upon thousands of pink flamingos.
A narrow belt of acacia woodland is a favored spot by the tree climbing lion. Get a close up look at the impressively tusked elephants. Giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and warthog congregate at the open grassland The marshland is a resource for hippopotamus and diverse bird species.

In the afternoon picnic lunch will be served, thereafter we will continue enjoying wildlife before exiting the park.

-You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to fly out of the country or Arusha Domestic Airport and fly to Zanzibar or join another wildlife safari if extended excursions are selected.
