In April you may experience more rain than other times of year, but generally there are fewer safari vehicles and still abundant wildlife. The wilderness are shades of vibrant greens. This is one of the best times to explore the eastern Serengeti plains and the abundant wildlife in the Ngorongoro crater.

June is the beginning of dry and cold season, chilling especially at night and morning. This time of the year Tarangire offers less wildlife numbers than previous months. The Serengeti migration herds will be meandering between center and western and wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater is a must see. The number of safari vehicles is medium in June.

Kilimanjaro airport – Arusha 1 h Transfer


Program:

Upon your arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to your city hotel for your itinerary briefing. A refreshing overnight stay, before embarking on your adventure. 

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Driving Distance: 118 km – 2hrs

Activities: Game viewing
Program: After an early breakfast will energize us for a game drive through Tarangire National Park. The name Tarangire, originates from the river that crosses through the park. It serves as the only source of water for wild animals during the dry seasons. This wilderness is famed for its large number of elephants, abundant baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons.

As the afternoon sets in, we will stop for a nutritious picnic lunch. Afterwards we’ll continue game viewing before retiring to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park – Manyara National Park

 

Activities: Game viewing
Program: Departure to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing starts early after breakfast. The park has many attractions like hundred upon thousands of pink flamingos encrusted its lake. Over 370 bird species most of them being waterfowls or migrant birds. Pelicans, yellow billed storks, black winged stilt, yellow billed egret, and the African spoon bill and many others frolic at the swamps. This nature is also famous for its spectacle tree climbing lion. On a lucky day, the flat-topped acacia trees become cozy beds for lions. In the afternoon a picnic lunch will be served at the park. Thereafter, our game drive will continue with opportunities to view more diverse wildlife. By now we are ready to head to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Marera Valley – Bushman Visit at Lake Eyasi

Driving distance: 75km – 1hr drive

Activities: Bushman Visit cultural safari

Program: After breakfast we will spend time with the resourceful Hadzabe tribe. They are one of the few ethnic groups still holding their traditional ways of living. The Hadzabe have a very unique language communicating with clicks of the tongue.  They are still nomadic, hunting wild animals with bow and arrows as well as gathering wild fruits, roots and honey.

Their home is either caves or huts made from sticks and grass. Upon your arrival at their residence, you will learn their tradition ways of hunting and building a fire. After a remarkable morning you will return to the compound to witness a dunce bye then head to the lodge, past a Datooga village.

The Datooga are another semi-migrant tribe, they also live in huts made from sticks and mud. Their origins are thought to be Ethiopia, or South Sudan. They’ve recorded to have migrated to today’s Tanzania. These people resemble Maasai in their way of living. They are polygamous, raise cattle and the men walk with spears. Women dresses are made from animal skins and have tattoos around their eyes.

Lake Eyasi – Serengeti National Park

Driving Distance: 175 km – 2hrs 45 mins

Activities:  Game viewing
Program: Let’s start the day with a nutritious breakfast. After a game drive in the Great Rift Valley, you will be heading to the Serengeti, past the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. As you enter the southwest Serengeti your eyes will be captivated by the open grasslands. It is paradise to predators and prey. There are also many varieties of birdlife.

Picnic lunch will be served at the park. Thereafter game driving will continue past some beautiful open plains covered by kopjes. The kopjes are favored by lion, leopard and cheetahs as their shelters on hot days. By evening we will return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day Serengeti National Park

Activities: Game viewing

Program: You will have a full day exploring the Serengeti National Park. A day is dedicated to game drives in the plains. Imagine a place where animals live wild and free. Welcome to the Serengeti where predators like lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah and jackal thrive.

As the afternoon sets in, we will stop for a picnic lunch in the bush. Thereafter you will continue on game viewing and by evening we will be entering the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro

Driving distance: 110km – 2hrs drive

Activities: Game viewing
Program: Another day of uncovering the Serengeti’s wild treasures. After breakfast, lets head to the Ngorongoro crater, a picturesque attraction, a photographer’s dream. In the afternoon a picnic lunch will be served at the park. Then we will exit through the Nabi Main gate and drive past the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater to arrive at the lodge as the evening sets in.

Ngorongoro crater – Arusha

Driving distance: 177km – 3hrs drive

Activities: Game viewing
Program: Let’s get an early start and have breakfast at the crater floor. The untamed scenery of the Ngorongoro Valley will never cease to amaze. The crater floor has large populations of wildlife including buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, eland, hartebeest, gazelles and Black Rhino. Lions and Hyenas also thrive here. In the afternoon a nutritious lunch will be served then we head back up the crater wall and return back to Arusha.

-Overnight stay at Kahawa House or other planned accommodations.

Arusha – Kilimanjaro International Airport

Program: Today, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to fly out of the country or Arusha Domestic Airport and fly to Zanzibar or join another wildlife safari if extended excursions are selected.
